Creating a Learning Resource [Artifact]

 

         For this assignment, we were to create a learning resource for our school. Around the topic of Science 10 we were to choose a topic that we would create a web page for. We would provide details and examples of the stuff we were trying to teach. For future grade 10's they can use these resources to understand the contents of science 10 better.

         I chose "Classifying and Balancing Chemical Equations". I created a pretty simplistic website design with a plain background and a simple text with examples and 2 custom videos I made (I think I was the only one to add self-made videos onto my website). This was one of my favorite assignments, and it is because of that, that I made extra efforts to make videos and more examples of what I already explained on my website. My approach was simple but time consuming because while my design was simple I still had to provide lots of examples and 2 videos I made. I ran into a lot of affordances such as not being able to use subscripts, and running out of storage, or forgetting to plug in a microphone to record my videos. These affordances changed my way of creating the website but also taught me more about how to work around problems, something I am doing for this e-portfolio.

         My final thoughts on this are that it was a great way to learn web design, this artifact along with the wikis project helped me prepare well for this e-portfolio project. All in all, a great project to be introduced into web design.
